about
More Or Less is proud to present In Full Moonlight, their first release from Baltimore based producer, Graham Hatke. Graham’s primarily hardware setup, an Akai MPC, a Nord Lead and drum machines older than he is, lend his music a distinct throwback vibe. While not one to stay in the past his tracks are a unique take on the Motor City’s legacy of diverse techno and house mixed with percussive elements that can only come from the streets of Baltimore.
Before Sunrise is like the drive home after a late night of dancing, an orange glow on the horizon beckoning you further down the highway. This track showcases Graham’s love aaffair with the MPC, using layered drum patterns that coax the machine past its limits. After a few minutes, the synths and sunlight finally wash over you at break of day. Like drinking a fine wine, subtle nuances are unveiled with every listen of the track. Better get a designated driver for this one.
The second track features a stripped down approach that is Miles Away from minimal, and yet the sparsity of components keeps your head and feet floating through the air. Starting of with a shuffle heavy drum line the synths creep up on you like that stalker at the bathroom window making sure you warshed your hands.
Miles Away (Dubbed Out Mix), an ingenious flip on the original, uses a floor moving 4/4 kick complemented by Baltimore club inspired percussion. The end result is a quality tech-house track which you don’t want to turn down even to place your order at the fast food window.
